SARVANI MANDALA

UPLIFTING LIVES & NURTURING ART

OUR STORY

EMPOWERING WOMEN AND PROMOTING TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFTS

Sarvani Mandala is a journey started with a vision to become a brand that symbolises empowerment and upliftment of rural Indian women while enhancing and promoting traditional handicrafts.

ABOUT US

The word Sarvani stands for Goddess Durga, the divine feminine power ; and Mandala stands for the universe, a circle,
and they come together to form Sarvani Mandala meaning the circle of divine feminine energy, the circle of women manifesting their love, talent and culture into art.
With the intention of giving a rural-urban connect to revive the traditional art forms while sustaining rural communities and empowering women, Sarvani mandala is a journey started to make a difference, one mandala at a time. Reaching out to women in at their doorstep where they can work in their own space with their own pace, we ensure them a balance between their family and work. Providing a fixed employment, these women from less privileged backgrounds are encouraged to work, acquiring and enhancing new skills, giving them self-confidence and self-esteem. Along with impacting individual lives, we are grateful and mindful while we exist in the grace of Mother Nature. We use recycled paper for our packaging, keeping it 100% sustainable, ethical and natural. Going back to homemade is the way forward towards the nature and within.
The journey to home began long ago, we are much grateful to the flow.

FOUNDER'S STORY

Sarvani mandala is a journey started to make a difference that matters, a difference directly impacting the women of rural remote villages across our country. Exploring through the roots, the journey has just begun, one mandala at a time. We are all driven by our natural instincts and the natural flow of life. I have actually pursued electrical engineering degree from Noida, NCR. But being a child of the valley, born in Dehradun, I had always been inclined to the mountains, despite having spent most of my life in the city. Last year during lockdown, I quit my corporate job and travelled to Uttarakhand, to live in a small village called Kasar Devi. I spent a lot of my time taking walks each day which exposed me to various local women wherein I had conversations with them regarding the local culture, heritage of the place as well as their daily lives. Overtime I figured how unsettling their situation was, and I had to make a difference. Grateful to the flow of universe, I began on a journey more inclusive of nature than just man. The intention is to make sure the effort of these rural women does not outweigh their earnings, alongwith ensuring the rich culture & art isn’t lost in time. Trusting the process, opening to the flow of energy in my body, the flow of energy in the universe, I have embarked this beautiful journey Sarvani Mandala.
